Did you know TAFE NSW students showcase their talents at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the largest event in the Southern Hemisphere? 🐰 🎡 For over a decade, our students have impressed crowds with their skills in horticulture, floristry, sheep shearing, and wool classing. This invaluable experience prepares them for bright futures in their chosen fields. Adam Lucas, a dedicated Senior Events Specialist with TAFE NSW for nearly 25 years, coordinates TAFE NSW's presence at the Show and serves as the WorldSkills Australia State Manager. Starting as a part-time teacher in signwriting in 2000, he progressed to full-time, then became a Head Teacher, before stepping into his current role in 2010. "The best part of my job is working with such a diverse range of trades and skills," says Adam. "One day I'm at the Easter Show with florists, the next I'm at a WorldSkills Australia Competition with welders!"    Leaving school at 15 to become a signwriter, Adam never thought he'd be working in education. But at TAFE NSW, he gets to set students up for successful careers and see them flourish. "It's incredibly rewarding!" he says.    If you are inspired by Adam's story and would like to make a positive difference, TAFE NSW offers a career with purpose. TAFE NSW prioritises the professional growth of young leaders through initiatives like the Young Professionals Network (YPN), aimed at fostering leadership skills among under-35-year-old professionals. TAFE NSW Enterprise Architect and Co-Chair of TAFE NSW’s YPN, Jon Dahl, joined the network in February 2021 to advance his ICT career as a Systems Group graduate. “TAFE NSW has provided me with so many opportunities to network and grow in my leadership skills. While presentations on topics like resume writing, presentation skills, and leadership were valuable, the true rewards came from the collaborations and friendships forged within the network.” “My initial involvement with the YPN was to assist with IT which allowed me to gain considerable project management and presenting skills. One and a half years later, I find myself as the co-chair of the network presenting to senior leadership.” Discover a career of life-changing impact with TAFE NSW and be supported throughout your career: www.careers.tafensw.edu.au #TAFENSW #lifechangingimpact #careers
